Compress first, then send

Zipping a folder keeps its structure intact and shrinks most content (documents and images compress well). One file is also easier to transfer than a hundred.

Bigger than the limit?

If a single archive exceeds 1GB, create split volumes (.part1, .part2…) with your archive tool and upload them together — the recipient extracts from the first volume and the rest merge automatically.

Avoid corrupted downloads

Ask the recipient to check the file size matches, and keep short expiries for password-protected archives (send the password through a separate channel).
